Kathryn Aedy, Access and Sustainability Advisor at CAE is keynote speaker at Brent Council’s day-long event to mark the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December 2015.
The theme this year is Inclusion Matters: access and empowerment of people of all abilities.
Kathryn will speak about her experiences gained internationally in inclusion, as well as give insight into her work helping charities to undertake access audits and capital building works through City Bridge Trust’s Making London More Inclusive grants.
She will speak to a diverse audience of local disabled people, carers and voluntary organisations about how they, along with local authorities, can contribute towards the removal of barriers in their local area.
Kathryn said:
“I’m honoured to be invited to speak at an event hosted by a local council to celebrate all that’s been accomplished for disability rights, and to discuss the necessary work that continues to be done towards realising a fully inclusive society.”
One strong example of a local organisation already progressing towards greater inclusion is Brent Citizens Advice Bureau. They recently received the funds to cover an access audit from the City Bridge Trust and have taken access and inclusion training at CAE.
The event takes place 3 December 2015 at the Grant Hall, Brent Civic Centre from 11am to 2pm.
