An introduction to access and inclusive design – live online course

Aim

The principles and practicalities of access and inclusive design are brought to life by our experienced trainers. This course is an ideal starting point for anyone interested in improving their knowledge and understanding around access and inclusive design in relation to the built environment.

In a friendly and interactive online forum the course discusses the breadth and scope of access and inclusion while providing an overview of the relevant legislation including the Equality Act. This course is a useful introduction for anyone considering a career in access, designers improving their knowledge and those looking towards possible future NRAC accreditation. This is CAE’s first live online course  and has been developed based on one of the most popular public courses.

The course will be delivered on Zoom and covers the following areas:

  • Accessibility awareness
  • Understanding diversity and the built environment
  • Introduction to legislation and building design guidance
  • The Equality Act 2010 and public sector equality duty
  • Examples of good, and bad, practice in inclusive design.
