About the course
This course provides an understanding of dementia, including common causes and typical presentations. It explores how people with dementia may interact with, and react to their environment and covers key design principles for dementia friendly environments.
The course looks at how environments can be designed or adapted for safety, to improve quality of life, and to increase independence for people with dementia. Amongst other design features it covers orientation, wayfinding,decor, fixtures and fixtures, and looks at the design of functional spaces such as bedrooms, bathrooms, living and dining spaces.
This course is relevant for anyone designing or working in settings such as extra care or sheltered housing and health or social care environments where dementia friendly design would be of benefit.
The course fee is £350 plus VAT
