Free expert support for London charities and community organisations to create accessible, inclusive spaces and services.
London Inclusive Communities is a fully funded service from the Centre for Accessible Environments, designed to help charities, voluntary groups and community organisations create more inclusive, accessible spaces and services.
Whether you run a community centre, theatre, museum, heritage site, sports facility or local hub, we’ll help you remove the barriers that prevent disabled and older people from taking part.
This programme is funded by the City Bridge Foundation, London’s biggest independent charity funder, and builds on CAE’s expertise in inclusive design and carries on the work of the Access and Sustainability Advice Service which ended in April 2026.

Training
Delivered by industry-leading inclusive design specialists, our Inclusive environments webinar series shares key considerations for developing inclusive environments and making spaces accessible to all. Our webinars explore access awareness and the principles of inclusive design in the built environment as well as discussing best practice in the field.
Access audits
For more complex buildings we offer an audit of your building and external environment, assessing the full user journey and providing detailed, prioritised recommendations aligned with legislation and best practice.
Design and access advice
Specialist guidance on refurbishments, new builds and existing spaces, including design reviews, inclusive environments, and accessible communication. CAE can help you identify key areas that may need improving by:
- Assessing the new designs for the refurbishment or new build with an access design appraisal
- Providing advice on making events and activities inclusive
- Making recommendations on using accessible language
- Reviewing signage and interior features.
- Review information for an event.

Eligibility
To be able to access support from London Inclusive Communities your organisation must meet the following criteria:
- Based in London
- Be a registered charity, voluntary organisation or community interest company (CIC)
- Own or lease the building
- Provide community-based services
- Be a small or medium sized enterprise
