Aim
Learn about disability awareness and the principles and practicalities of inclusive design in the built environment.
This expert-led online course is a great starting point for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of access and inclusive design in the built environment.
Course outline
The course will be delivered on Zoom and covers the following areas:
- Disability awareness
- Inclusive design and access awareness
- Overview of the Equality Act 2010
- Types of discrimination and reasonable adjustments
- Overview of planning policy and Building Regulations relating to access
This course is a useful introduction to inclusive design for anyone wanting to improve their knowledge of accessibility in the built environment, including those those looking towards possible future NRAC accreditation. This is CAE’s first live online course, and has been developed to give participants a grounding in disability and access awareness, and the key principles of inclusive design.
