Emergency Evacuation for Disabled People in the Built Environment – live online course

Aim

The course gives an understanding of how to design Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) and General Emergency Evacuation Plans (GEEPs) for people who may require assistance during an emergency evacuation.

This course will provide you with an understanding of the fire safety provisions available to assist in the event of a fire and how each of these may affect disabled people.

We will discuss how diverse users can be impacted by the emergency escape strategy for a building. Guidance will be provided in the preparation of PEEPs and GEEPs.

    About the course

    This virtual course is aimed at building managers, facilities managers, supervisors, or anyone responsible for preparing PEEPs and GEEPs.

    The course will be delivered via Zoom 10:30am to 3:30pm and will cover:

    • Fire safety provisions in the event of an emergency
    • Accessibility Awareness and understanding the requirements for disabled people for emergency evacuations
    • PEEPs and GEEPs how to write and implement a plan
    • Building considerations for commercial and residential property
    • Discussion and questions
