Crossing London is a new project by CAE that aims to improve access and inclusion in the pedestrian environment on five of London’s most iconic bridges.
The project has been created for London’s biggest charity funder, City Bridge Foundation, which looks after Blackfriars Bridge, Millennium Bridge, Southwark Bridge, London Bridge and Tower Bridge.
You can take part by in the Crossing London project by:
- Completing an online survey
- Joining an informal Digital Walks workshop
Whether you regularly use the bridges, use them occasionally, avoid certain bridges, or avoid crossing by bridge altogether, we want to hear about your experience.
We’re also interested in whether accessibility should include how the history and importance of the bridges is shared and experienced.
Your survey and workshop responses will contribute to a report for City Bridge Foundation and help shape future plans for the bridges.

Digital Walks workshops
Join CAE online for a conversation about accessibility on Blackfriars Bridge, Millennium Bridge, Southwark Bridge, London Bridge and Tower Bridge.
During the workshop, we will travel virtually, using digital maps, across each of the bridges whilst discussing:
- How you feel in certain parts of the bridge
- Any barriers to access, memories and stories
- Ideas for improvements.
We’re keen to hear from all bridge and non-bridges users. The sessions are informal – drop in for a chat and leave whenever you choose.
